This is not a recap, but more of an extended comments section.
The show starts off with everyone saying goodbye.
Immediately, since this is the most poorly written show I have ever seen, I know Nora is going to die.
Anywho, Creep and Creepier (Palmer and Coco, yes, Coco is creepier. Do I really need to explain why?) decide they really are gonna show The Master who is boss.
Um. Okay.
That definitely ended the way everyone on the planet thought it would, on the show and in real life.
The bidding war was kind of cool. I like the barbs sent back and forth between Mr. Nazi and Grumps. However, didn't Grumps say those insulting words to Mr. Nazi before? Kind of a broken record at this point.
I did love the utter devastation Mr. Nazi portrayed when he lost the book. He knows The Master might just kill him permanently over this. That was neat.
I did not love seeing Grumps orgasm over holding to Lumen. Next time, let's pass on that visual.
That was so dumb - and I've read the books.
I'm shaking my head, days later, and even having to write why this is so dumb.
First, Nora. He's a kid - don't listen to him, end of story. This isn't a battle just to save this worthless piece of shit of a kid, but your own life. You owe this kid nothing.
The best part of the whole thing, and by best I mean the absolute worst, is that when Nora has been bitten, Zack still walks to his mom. It's not like Kelly asks Zack to come to her and doesn't kill Nora, but Zack witnesses this murder. On top of that, wile Nora is dying and groaning from pain and sadness, Zack gives her an over the shoulder look and just walks away.
Wow.
If people didn't already hate this character, they will hate him now.
If you are supposed to feel something for a character, this isn't the way to go about it.
Now we have to watch Eph, who is a waste of space himself, go after his Damien-esque son ... who the F cares.
There are not enough words for how little the audience should and does give a shit about this crappy kid.
This show has long since derailed. It went off the story of the books, and for what purpose? To make the story worse and more eye-rollingly bad? (I don't know if that's a word, but it should be)
I'm glad the season is over. On an interesting note, Sleepy Hollow restarted. It's kind of a guilty pleasure of mine to watch that show. For all that it does wrong, I still enjoy the main character very much. When I compare the two shows, I can't help but prefer Sleepy Hollow. When it does well, it's because the writers use humor. The show got away from that last season and right off the bat, episode one, there was humor. Memo received by the writing staff and results were delivered.
Hopefully The Strain gets the memo that the show is God-awful, the characters act in a completely unrealistic manner, and no audience member truly cares about a single character on the show.
My thoughts blog will now switch over to Sleepy Hollow while The Strain is on hiatus.
Until next time ... enjoy your shows!
