Top ten reasons TWD is the worst:
1. Know Who Your Character Rick Is (Know Your Own Show): Rick survived killing a band of people who almost killed/raped his son by biting off an ear. He also survived Terminus. Why does he have Japanese Animation Eyes? Why is he quivering? Why is he almost crying? Fucking stop it. I know the point is that he underestimated The Saviors, but that doesn't mean he turns into a mess. Remember him when he first came to Alexandria? Bloodied? Takes no chances? Remember your own show.
2. Know Who Your Character Carol Is (Know Your Own Show): Carol burned alive her friends. She killed a child. She does not roll on the ground. That does not make sense.
3. Know Who Your Own Character Morgan Is (Know Your Own Show): That quick of a turn around, yeah? F-you.
4. Know Who Your Audience Is (Know Your Own Show): We pay attention, we have followed "the rules" that you have set forth. You have created back stories, and past plots. Review them. You morphed Carol from a weak, abused wife to a warrior woman who made hard decisions. But we went with you on that journey. Don't scrap it now because you want conflict. Be creative, don't be lazy. You made Rick have to stand up to pedophile rapists, kill Terminus folks, get over Laurie -- you made him unflinching. Don't backtrack. Don't tear down Carol to build up Morgan. Just ... just don't.
5. How many people have to take Maggie? I mean, seriously. Or, at least state the reason so many are in the RV is that they fear an ambush by The Saviors. However this would create another problem that makes TWD the worst because Rick shouldn't be a quivering mess if he had any foresight that something like this might happen. So stupid.
6. Negan and Rick are the same type of person/The Saviors could be the Alexandrians. No. This is another stupid thought thread by the writers. The Saviors are tasked by Negan to set out and take half of other people's belongings. It is clear if they don't succeed, then they are tortured or beaten. This is not the mission statement of our Scooby gang.
7. One planned attack by The Saviors do not make them super scary. We have been told time and time again just how scary Negan and The Saviors are. Sure. They cornered our Scooby gang, but the real issue was how stupid the writers wrote our Scooby gang. What we knew before this event is that they like to block the road - intel from Sasha, Daryl, and Abraham. We know from Daryl, Carol, and Maggie's meetups with the Saviors that they like to torture to keep their constituents in line. We also know that they can be defeated. Daryl took the first group out with a rocket launcher and our Scoobs took out an entire outpost. So what do the writers do? They have our Scooby gang load up in one RV and go into their territory. They fought a war on their grounds. Duh. I wonder why it didn't go well.
8. Know Your Own Show: Don't spend an entire season leading up to Negan to have him show up in the last ten minutes of the show and then have him kill some unknown fan favorite. Other shows do shit like that and it is fine. You are not those shows.
9. Never, ever reference Lost if you want any spoiler alert/cliffhanger/secret plot thread credibility. That is the exact OPPOSITE show you should evoke if you are trying to solidify your choice of plot.
10. Stop being assholes to your audience. It's insulting. Maybe Glenn really is dead now? Maybe Abraham? Why, because you spent the last few episodes creating a narrative redemptive/hopeful arc just to tear it down for no other person because you can? You tear down Rick. You tear down Carol. Just, stop already. You build up Denise just to tear her down and kill her. It's annoying, lazy, and insulting. Stop being assholes just because you can. It's not shocking anymore, it's presumptuous.
