In this episode Icky and Abbie have to fight an old foe in The Kindred. We spend the first part of the episode with Abbie feeling out of sorts since coming back from that other world. I can see that. For her, it was 10 months in some type of hell. If she were quick to be back to normal, that wouldn't be too realistic.
However, now that Abbie is back, Icky realizes that he has neglected other aspects of his life, including Zoe. I have always really liked Zoe. She is sweet, quirky, and super intelligent. I only love her more after this episode. She absolutely stands up to Icky, and she has every right to. She doesn't come after him all wild, angry, and hurt. I mean, obviously she is hurt by what he did, but it's the calm way in which she tells him off which was wonderful. As for Icky, he wasn't the one in the other world without a cell phone. There was no excuse not to send one simple, quick text letting her know that he had a family emergency and would be in contact when he could. Monsters or not, Icky failed her. Too bad this is how he proves he is a modern man, by ghosting away (I loved the reference).
As for this leaving the door open for Icky and Abbie, I guess. I'm not hell-bent on having them be together, but they make sense together.
The rest of the plot theme about people getting mates is between the Kindred and the much younger Kindress. The best line was when Icky said something to the effect of "how odd"...
Yes, how odd indeed.
Both monsters were good and I think the costume and makeup departments did another excellent job this week.
As for the last bit of thoughts on this episode, I love that Pandora is also becoming a modern women ... a modern woman scorned. She is struggling to stand by her man because her feminist side is coming out. Give up her powers for a man? A man who doesn't truly care for her? A man who does not think her an equal ....
Better watch out buddy, Pandora is gonna go women's lib on your ass ...
