I feel like characters in this episode made poor choices. I might be alone in this, but GoT is kinda off this season.
Poor choice characters:
Bumbling Bran, Tyrion, Sansa Strong.
That's right, she gets a new name this week.
Why is Bran so dumb? I know he is a teenager and all and thinks he knows everything, but, idiot, you are playing with magic. Tree Dude told you not to go into the trance without him. He WARNED you. Now you basically killed everyone. Most importantly, you killed your Dire wolf. I'm unhappy about that.
Which leads me to an unpopular opinion about Hodor.

I thought it was dumb. I always think it is dumb when an act is created in the future, that effects the past, that effects the future. I find it lazy. It's M. Night Shayamalan's Signs all over again -- the whole "swing away" debacle.
Hodor would have been just as heroic if he hadn't had the kitsch ending. In fact, it would have been more heroic. Basically, what you are telling me is Bran designed Hodor's life for the sole purpose of saving his. No choice involved. Just destiny. I feel like it takes away from Hodor's sacrifice. It would have been much more emotional if Hodor had truly made his choice. Instead, it was a gimmick.

Now onto Sad Sansa, officially renamed Sansa Strong. You go, girl. I loved how Sansa Strong did not let Littlefinger worm his way out of the confrontation. Brilliant.
However, I'm not sure why Sansa Strong sent Brienne to meet with Blackfish. There wasn't another individual who could do that? I'm really hoping that there is a reason. Sansa Strong is officially playing the game of thrones and perhaps she is thinking a few plays ahead.
On a side note, I was totally laughing with Brienne and Wildling man. I'm absolutely being manipulated by the GoT writers and am perfectly happy to be.

Other thoughts:
- Who is this Red Woman 2? RW2 simply comes out of nowhere. Apparently, Tyrion, like his sister, is trying to use religion for his purposes. Tyrion wants to use RW2 for propaganda. How can he trust her? With such a large task? I'm very skeptical about this and I feel like it was not properly set up.
- I love every time Theon is on the screen. He definitely won himself an ally in his sister when he picked her to be Queen. I thought the actor did so good here. Theon stood up for his sister, but he is still a very broken, shamed man. I'm excited for his arc.
- What's the situation with the spear and Meera? Did it work like Dragon Glass because it punctured a White Walker? As in, like it's tainted in White Walker blood? Is it because one of the Children of the Forest touched it? Or is it because the White Walkers and a child of the forest touched it? You know, very The Dark Crystal (Skeksis and Mystics = urSkeks). Weird.
- I liked the scene between Jorah and Danny. It was touching. I really like Jorah. How much do we think that the Stone Men will be recruited by Jorah?
Until next time!
