I feel like I lead off every week with poor Kim. Poor Jimmy. Poor somebody.
Kim just keeps getting the short end of the stick. She can't win. She's stuck in the mail room because of Chuck, but once he negotiates her release, she is in a new prison -- wrath from Howard. It is interesting how Howard despises Kim at this moment in the show. It's hypocritical, it is ironic, it is ... expected. Howard thinks he is on par with Chuck, but he is not. The reason Howard is so pissed at Kim is because he just got played by Chuck like she did. Sucks, doesn't it Howard? To be treated less that what you are. To be punished/forced to do something by an egomaniac because he feels like it? Howard was duped by Jimmy, so was Kim. Neither should be the one punished, but they are. The fact that they are in the same boat because of Chuck unnerves Howard. What goes around comes around.
I don't know how I feel about the offer Moscow Mule gave Kim. It's clearly just to get her off the Sandpiper case but the real question is, does it matter? As long as she is out from under Howard and Chuck and that dysfunctional relationship?
But that's what this show teaches us, highlights. That decisions have consequences, some that are more dire than you could ever imagine.

As for Jimmy, this week we continue to see how much Jimmy loves Kim. What guy spends weeks serenading a woman over an answering machine? A sweetheart is who.
It definitely wins Kim over.
So who else would Kim turn to when she is struggling to decide about the job offer? She knows that she is walking from one bad situation to another, so she needs a little release. I don't think Jimmy goes for the con, he goes, because he loves her. Whatever that woman wants, Jimmy will do it.
Jimmy is still struggling himself with being a square peg in a round hole. It was a beautiful scene, him prying open the cup holder so he could fit Kim's round cup into his smaller round hole. He is working so very hard to fit something into his life that isn't designed for it.
Also, both of their jobs seem so mundane. I wouldn't want to do it either, Jimmy.

Then there is Mike, oh, jeez. He is so badass it is ridiculous, but even he can't go up against the entire Mexican cartel. Threatening his granddaughter though? I don't think Mike is quite through yet.
The interesting thing I noted was how Mike builds relationships. He is constantly giving money back to Nacho. His strength of character, his intelligence, his tenacity -- how will this play out? We know from Breaking Bad that Mike has the trust of his people, the cops on his payroll. Mike is adamant with Walter White that his people get paid and that loyalty is his. I do believe we are watching Mike's process with Nacho.
Until next time!
