Another good episode from Better Call Saul. The relationship between Chuck and Saul was great again this week. This time we got to see that Jimmy still cares for his brother, despite his every desire not to. The guy is an asshole. He is self-righteous, severely flawed, and incapable of returning the same kindness that Jimmy bestows upon him. Chuck thinks Jimmy is the evil one, but we all know who is the worst brother.
Just look at the way Chuck has no problem accepting help from Jimmy, only to tear him completely down later. Chuck won't admit it, but he sure as shit went after Kim to get at Jimmy. He rationalizes it in the worst way possible, that Kim is a smart person and should have known better in regards to Jimmy, but that completely negates that Chuck did indeed target Kim. What a piece of work.

Kim actually seems to be handling it and her demotion fairly well. She's mad at Jimmy, but not through with Jimmy. This is actually a really interesting turn of events. Jimmy's downfall might not be directly linked to Kim breaking up with him, but the damage their relationship takes from him trying to save her from himself. It's kind of the same thing, but not really. I'm really looking forward to where this plot thread leads.
The real story this week is Mike. Mike needs money to buy his daughter-in-law a house and Nacho is willing to supply it if Mike will kill his business partner Tuco.
Mike goes as far as looking at possible guns for the job, but then changes his mind. He instead settles for less money and sets up an elaborate scheme to get Tuco sent to jail. It cost Mike some serious pain and injuries, but the plan works.
We learn a few things from this encounter. First, obviously, Mike is not ready to just willy-nilly kill people. We also are reinforced with just how smart Mike is about situations/the world. He has no problem evaluating a situation for himself. He doesn't just go along with the flow. Even though he doesn't go along with his boss, Nacho still greatly respects Mike for his smarts. What we also learn in not only can Mike dissect a current situation and evaluate it's merits, but he also has the ability to plan. He is very cunning with his plan for Tuco. It took knowledge of his enemy, foresight, fortitude, and conviction. Mike is the one-two punch of street smarts. He is an impressive man. It is immediately clear how dangerous he is. I loved watching Mike's plan unfold and I loved watching Tuco do his thing. Hey, Mike. Too bad we all know later on in Breaking Bad what a monster Tuco is.
